Reception at 08:30am for 9:00am start. Finish at 5:00pm

The conference will be a day of seminars and workshops followed by (optional) evening banquet. The event is being held at the lovely Stourport Manor Hotel in Worcestershire. The central location means the event is under an hour’s drive from Birmingham (and BHX airport) and around 2.5 hours drive from both London and Exeter in the south, Swansea in Wales and Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester in the North of England.

Agnes is Managing Director of the WoolSafe Organisation and tutors the Fibre Care Specialist training course. She has a PhD in chemistry and runs the WoolSafe Approved product certification programme.

STAIN REMOVAL AND COLOUR REPAIR ON SISAL CARPET: About Gabriel Andreca  

Widely accepted as one of the most challenging fibres to clean this is a great opportunity to add this knowledge to your arsenal. Gabriel Andreca will demonstrate his tried and tested skills and show you how to successfully remove common spills. Where the removal of spills results in colour loss, or change of colour, Gabriel will demonstrate colour correction with dyes specially formulated for use on cellulosic fibres.

UPHOLSTERY FINE TEXTILE IDENTIFICATION AND CLEANING: About Paul Pearce

Paul will share his vast knowledge on fine textiles. He’ll show how to correctly identify textiles, their fibre content and construction. Paul will demonstrate how this knowledge influences your decisions when choosing the cleaning chemistry and techniques you will use.

ESSENTIAL CARPET REPAIR FOR CARPET CLEANERS: About Adam Jankowski

If stain removal and colour correction are unsuccessful, the next possible option is carpet repair. Adam will demonstrate how to retuft small areas of damage and how to make invisible ‘bonded insert’ repairs. Trainees will come away with the knowledge to make these repairs. Then it is a case of  ‘practice makes perfect’.

SETTING UP A SMALL RUG CLEANING FACILITY ON A BUDGET – AND TOP TIPS FOR MARKETING THIS SEPERATE SERVICE! About Allan Simmons

Allan will explain how he set up a rug spa in a very small unit. He’ll chat to you about the work flow within the facility and the key equipment you should invest in first, to get the optimum benefit. Allan will also explain some of the pitfalls to avoid so you can save money by learning from his mistakes. Delegates will leave with several example plans for rug spa set-ups and easy to action marketing tips.

Tour 2. Hartlebury Castle – Friday 12th May 2023

Hartlebury Castle was the home of the Bishops of Worcester from 855 to 2007. Three of our bishops became saints, two were burned at the stake for their faith, one became the Pope who refused Henry the VIII his divorce and another was present at the execution of Mary Queen of Scots. They have amazing stories to tell and their history and that of Hartlebury Castle is inextricably linked with the history of the nation.
